These past two days my family and I have been on a mini trip to...Detroit! (What's better than exploring your own state?)
Me and my sisters with our hot chocolate in the "Ren Cen".
We stopped first in Dearborn to visit the Henry Ford Museum. The Henry Ford Museum is one of the COOLEST museums, not to mention a nifty piece of American history. Some points of interest: old steam powered trains, the car Kennedy was shot in, the bus Rosa Parks refused to give up here seat and a circular house.
Afterwards, we went to H&M. While you might think this sounds weird, it's tradition to visit one on each vacation. We then got dinner in Greektown in Detroit and visited the Astoria Bakery afterwards where we got these tasty treats:
Yummy yums.
We stayed downtown at the "Ren Cen" aka the Renaissance Center. From our window we could see both Canada and the Joe Louis Ice Arena.
Gotta love me some Canada, eh?
Today we visited the Detroit Institute of Art. My favorite art:
Gotta love me some Van Gogh, Monet, and Degas!
Our final stop: IKEA!!! The world's best place for cheap, wonderful furniture, home decorations, and anything you could possibly need for your house/apartment!
Oh yeah, and a visit to Detroit isn't compete without a visit to my favorite abandoned train station:
Michigan Central Depot
