"You will find as you look back upon your life, that the moments when you have truly lived are the moments when you have done things in the spirit of love."
So a few weeks ago I prepared a long winding post about what makes an extraordinary couple or an extraordinary marriage complete with different opinions from different people. I decided to throw that all out last night when I saw a blog post that made something click in my mind and say "wow, they are truly an extraordinary couple". Something that clicked with me much more than opinion and an almost "formula" for the extraordinary marriage. Her blogpost was written in celebration of their two years of marriage. However, what was unique and what struck me the most was they a) recognized and thanked the role of communities in their lives and marriage b) most importantly, they asked people to say a prayer for their marriage. For me, that last one, is not something I would think of doing at all. I think of them as already having a wonderful marriage, so I wouldn't think of them needing "help" or prayers because those are usually reserved for when something needs to be fixed, saved, helped, etc. Nevertheless, they asked for prayers to keep their love and passion strong, to find new way to fall in love with one another, etc. To me this is what makes them extraordinary. Their commitment to a relationship present with God and an never ending passion and choice to love one another better. I am going to say a prayer not only thanking God for their relationship (as it has been a great inspiration for me) but that they continue to chase each other's hearts, love one another unconditionally, love deeply and simply and continue to grow in love in the days, months and years to come. I do believe with all of these things, that they are extraordinary.
