A Merlin Love Story

This is Merlin.

These past few days, I've lost my heart to a cat named Merlin.  It all started yesterday when Mike's roommate, Eli helped him down from a tree.  Being the cat lover that I am, I ran out to assist in the efforts.  Once down from the tree we did what most people do when they find an animal- follow it around a bit and give it some random food from the fridge.  At this point Eli and I decided we should bring it in to the house (despite the house already being "claimed" by Laura's dog, Max).  Both Mike and Laura freaked out when they saw a random cat come down the stairs (we neglected to tell them about Merlin for humor purposes).

After the MSU basketball game, we decided to let him go again (he's too big and healthy to be a stray).  However, when I went outside to go talk to my dad about the game a few minutes later he came running towards me from across the street, and then followed me to come back into the house.  It was heartbreaking.  We decided to go to Meijer to get Merlin some cat food.  When he returned, he was no where to be seen.  I left the cat food on the front step.  I admit, I started tearing up because I had already gotten so attached to the cat.  He is a beautiful, fluffy, loving cat that I would to call my own.  

Farewell, Merlin!

This morning the cat food was gone.  Perhaps, someday he will return again.

Back to Reality!

This weekend was nice and relaxing.  It was rejuvenating to be surrounded by nature (something other than houses and concrete) and just plain sereneness.  Now it's back to reality for a little while.  Here's what's going on:

Since it's doppelganger week, where you change your profile picture on facebook to a celebrity that people tell you that you look like!  I always get Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia from Star Wars).  

Which I've gotten that we look practically like twins...

On a sadder note, Bubba our fish died.  He lived to be about one year and two months.  He was Mike and I's first pet, so he was always more than just a fish to us.  We came home and gave him a proper funeral/flushing to say good bye.   

I got a new header/template.  I'm still trying to figure out how to make it flush with the rest of the body.  Any tips or hints would be really helpful!
